Graptopetalum 'Purple Delight'

Graptopetalum 'Purple Delight' (aka G. 'Snow White' aka 'Crystal'): An elegant rosette succulent with stunning form and colors. Depending on the conditions in which it's grown, 'Purple Delight' can range from deep lilac to bubblegum pink to frosty white. It tends to show a nice mottling of colors and has a powdery coating of to protect it in direct sun. It can grow to about 4.0" in diameter and then continues to grow tall on a bare stem. Fortunately, this cultivar takes well to and transplanting.

Soft succulents will not survive a hard frost, but if there is a risk of freezing temperatures they can be brought indoors to grow on a sunny window sill or under a grow light. They need bright sunlight, good drainage, and infrequent water to prevent rot. Pick containers with drainage holes and use with 50% to 70% mineral grit such as coarse sand, pumice, or perlite. Water deeply enough for water to run out the drainage hole, then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again.
